Hello, I am Tif Choate (ChŌt),
founder of Snail Candy Art Studio
I have one mission in my life. I hope to help people recognize and capture joy in unexpected places. I believe joy is like a valuable currency. It's so underrated. Amazingly, it has the power to totally restore our mental banks.
Each connection to a joyful moment is like a flotation device; it can save your life. There are so, so many things in this world that bring us down. I won't even mention any here, but I guarantee you thought of something.
I'm more interested in the things that lift us up. To see them, smile as we allow them to excite us, even laugh out loud. Moments and memories can elevate our attitudes. They can change our minds. Joy has the unique ability to give us hope and restore strength.
I create my paintings in order to arouse unexpected joy and warmth in you, the viewer. I hope that these visionary delights, using a full-spectrum colorful palette, will lift your spirits.

My company, Snail Candy Art, was established in 2017 when I decided to leave all of the other joy-sucking jobs behind and begin my real life, making & creating art full-time. I primarily paint with brushes, palette knives and various tools, using acrylic paint on large canvases. I also paint large public wall murals using latex house paint. Custom animal portraits in my unique and colorful mosaic style are works I truly enjoy making for my clients. I love to create vibrant abstracts as well, when the mood strikes. As an active Colorado artist, I regularly used to, before COVID19, exhibit my paintings in galleries and art fairs. I totally believe in public art projects and participate in them across the front range of Colorado. I have been an artist and painter all my life. I have a degree in graphic design and illustration from the Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale, FL.
